Parking near Yedra20

Our honest advice first: come without a car. Everything worth seeing in Málaga is a walk from our door. The airport train leaves you 14 minutes away. Day trips run from the train and bus stations, 18 to 19 minutes on foot. In the centre a car is a cost and a worry, not a convenience.

If you do drive, the plan is simple. Leave the car in a SMASSA public car park, walk to the apartment and forget about it until you leave. Details below.

Street parking (SARE)

Street parking in central Málaga is regulated by SMASSA under the SARE scheme. Blue-marked bays are paid during the hours below and free the rest of the time.

Detail
Paid hoursMon–Fri 9:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00; Sat 9:00–14:00
FreeOutside those hours, Sundays and public holidays
Price1.00 € per hour
Minimum0.50 € (30 minutes)
Maximum stay150 minutes (2.50 €)
Short-stay bays (SARE 30)30 minutes maximum
How to payTicket machines on the street or the SMASSA mobile app

The maximum stay is the catch. Two and a half hours is fine for unloading luggage, not for a week. Calle Yedra itself is not on SMASSA's 2026 list of regulated streets, so it has no blue bays. The nearest regulated sector (nº 12, Mármoles) starts a couple of blocks south, around Calle Mármoles and Calle Zamarrilla. Free spaces in La Trinidad are scarce, and the street signs always take precedence.

The low-emission zone (ZBE)

Málaga's low-emission zone rules took effect on 30 November 2024, and restrictions with fines have applied since 30 November 2025. The zone covers the historic centre and also La Trinidad, so Calle Yedra is inside it.

Access depends on the Spanish environmental label (etiqueta DGT) of your car.

LabelCan enter?
CERO, ECO, CYes
BYes until 29 Nov 2026. From 30 Nov 2026, only cars registered in Málaga (subject to the court case below)
No labelOnly cars registered in Málaga before 30 Nov 2024

Foreign cars are the difficult case. Many older cars registered abroad have no Spanish label and count as unlabelled, even if they would qualify at home. Fines are 200 € (100 € if paid promptly). If you come in a rental car, check the label sticker on the windscreen when you pick it up.

In June 2026 the Andalusian High Court (TSJA) partly annulled the ZBE rules because they treat cars registered in Málaga differently. The ruling is not final: the City Council has asked for a clarification and may appeal to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the cameras are still issuing fines. Check the official mobility site before driving in.

If you are not sure your car may enter, use Cruz de Humilladero, which is outside the zone, and walk or take a taxi from there.
